Pete Anthony Lannie was born February 26, 1930 in Center Ridge, AR to Nicholas Joseph Lannie and Annie Marie Zarlingo Lannie.

He died April 9, 2018 at the age of 88 years, 1 month, and 14 days of age at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Pete was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caruthersville. He graduated Braggadocio High School in 1949. After graduation he enlisted in the US Navy. He was united in marriage to Pauline E. Worley on March 28, 1953 in Hernado, MS. In 1954 Pete and Pauline purchased their first grocery store; which came to be Lannie’s Superette. Pete traded in the keys to the grocery store for keys to the car business in 1974, which he owned until he retired in 2016 at the age of 85.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas Joseph Lannie and Annie Marie Lannie, one sister, Loretta Marie Huck and one daughter, Tina Christine Lannie.

He leaves the following to cherish his memory, wife, Pauline E. Lannie of Hayti, one daughter, Vicky A. Cartee (Mark) of Hayti, three sons, Paul Anthony Lannie (Donna) of Houston, TX, Ricky Lannie (Jessica) of Olive Branch, MS, and Marcus Lannie of Hayti, four granddaughters, Heather Ishak (Andrew) of Los Gatos, CA, Leslie Yarbrough (Josh) of Steele, Hannah Lannie of Olive Branch, MS, and Grace Lannie of Hayti, four grandsons, Christopher Cartee (Krista) of Fort Meyers, FL, Nicholas Cartee (Ellen) of Caruthersville, Pete Anthony Lannie (Amber) of Salt Lake City, UT, and Jackson Pete Lannie of Hayti, ten great-grandchildren, Charlotte Ann, Evangeline, Corbin, Dani Kate, Lannie, Theodore, Gavin, Nicholas, and Garrett, two nieces, Yvonne Moore (Danny) of Cordova, TN and Rhonda McDonald, one nephew, Ira Fisackerly of Lenexa, KS, and many special nieces, nephews, close family and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caruthersville with Father Jarek officiating. Burial will be in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens in Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Thomas Greenwell, Bobby and Doug Khourie, Darin Suddarth, Timmy and Randy Gardner.
