ERSEL MAE SCOTT

Ersel Mae Scott, 80, of Holland passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018, in Steele. She was born Nov. 8, 1937, in Gun Town, Miss., to Howard L. Underwood and Willie Mae Dyer Underwood. She was united in marriage to Jake Scott in Steele on Dec. 3, 1973. She was a member of the Life Worship Center in Steele for 25 years. She loved fishing and working in her flower beds and her vegetable garden.

Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Willie Mae Underwood; husband, Jake Scott; three brothers, Doc, Elton and Gene Underwood, and one sister, Ethel Galbraith.

Survivors of Mrs. Scott include two brothers, Bill Underwood and his wife, Pat, of Holland and Bobby Underwood of Caruthersville, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Scott wree held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 5 at Life Worship Center in Steele with Rev. Ralph Amerson officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation was held from 12 noon until the time of the service. Pallbearers were Scott Wicker, Tim Crosskno, David Quart, Jamie Floyd, Robert Crosskno and Billy Amerson.

Powell Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
