JOSEPH RILEY BRADSHAW

Joseph Riley Bradshaw was born May 21, 1949 in Blytheville, AR. He was the son of William Luther Bradshaw and Dorothy Louise Moody Bradshaw.

He departed this life at his home in Caruthersville on February 19, 2018. He was 68 years old.

Joe was a member of the 1967 graduating class of Caruthersville High School. After high school he attended Freed Hardman College and then Harding University.

Joe was a very passionate outdoorsman. He was a member of the Wild Turkey Federation and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an instructor with the Hunter Safety Certification Course.

He was a Pemiscot County Deputy with the badge number of 3714.

Joe was a part of the foreign exchange host family program and hosted Roland Noth from Switzerland and Simon Gannon from Australia.

More than anything, Joe desired to be remembered as a man that tried to be fair to everyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Lauren McCracken (Shawn) of Marion, AR, granddaughter, Julia McCracken of Marion, AR, his sister, Jacque Barfknecht (Thomas) of Dyersburg, TN, his dear friend, Sandra Hooker of Caruthersville, many other relatives, and good friends.

Pallbearers were Tommy Greenwell, Joe Bryant, Jimmy Alsup, Alan Carlton, Jess Cagle, and Jerry Hudgins. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Moody, Doug Moody, Tim Bradshaw, Bobby Pike, Don Parsley, and Josh Bost.

Funeral services were held at H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Mickey Moody and Kenny Lee officiating on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Interment was in Little Prairie Cemetery.
