TAMEKA RENEA STARKS

Tameka Renea Starks was born May 24, 1989 in Hayti.

She died at her home December 25, 2017 at the age of 28 years, 7 months, and 2 days of age.

Tameka was a loving mother of two kids, Corderro Taylor Jr. and Amya Nicole Cooper. She was born to Thomas Starks and the late Lesley Nicole Cooper. Tameka was the second born of four children and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.

Tameka attended Hayti High School. Throughout her school years she played volleyball and participating in band. She was a member of the Honor Society and cheerleading.

After completing school, Tameka obtained her C.N.A license and worked for the Caruthersville Nursing Center for years. Tameka was known for her beautiful smile, being a loving mother, and her upfront personality.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Lesley Nicole Cooper, her grandmothers Lou Starks and Arthur Louise Cooper.

Tameka leaves to mourn a son, Corderro Taylor Jr. and a daughter, Amya Nicole Cooper, her father Thomas (Paulette) Starks of Caruthersville, and Kathryn Cooper, four brothers, Dustin Starks, Kwantrez Pitts, Thomas Starks, and Dwayne Woods Jr., as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Pastor Karl Humes officiating. Cremation followed services.
