JORETHA WILLIAMS

Joretha Williams was born August 10, 1956 in Gary, IN. She died December 30, 2017 in Dyersburg at the age of 61 years, 4 months, and 20 days.

Her parents were the late Robert and Ida Williams, Margarite Brooks. Joretha also had two sisters precede her in death in death, Samantha Pace and Barbra Jean Thrower, along with the fathers of her children, Milton Whitfield and I.V. Moore.

Joretha leaves to celebrate her life in the love and memories of her children, Milton Whitfield (Quanna), Marcus Whitfield (Marisa), Darlene Williams (Charles), Derrick Williams (Autumn), Daniel Williams (Mary), along with 13 grandchildren, Milton, Tyana, Nalaya, Messiah, Tyquan, Akelis, Mariyah, Kamron, Marcus, Mah’Kiyah, Jamar, Deraya, and Jaymiah.

Joretha also leaves behind four sisters, Clair Allen, Mary Ann Smith, Teresa Bowden, and Mary Gibson, one brother, James Brooks along with a numerous amount of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.

As she continued on in life there were certain people she remained close to as well whom she spoke of highly, her husband, Kevin Franks, her niece and best friend Mildred Wise, niece Kathy Williams whom she loved dearly.

Joretha’s smiles, gentleness and love of life will always be a part of those who love her and her spirit will always keep us connected to her.

She will be truly missed as her journey continues.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Pastor Regional Ford officiating. Cremation followed services.
