Oct. 11 - Officers located and arrested Bryant Ellis, 46, of Hayti on an outstanding county warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of driving while intoxicated. Ellis was processed and incarcerated in the Justice Center in lieu of a $416.50 bond.

Oct. 12 - At 11:56 p.m. officers were called to the Pilot Travel Center in reference to a shoplifter who had taken a coat valued at $54.73 from the business. Upon arrival officers located and arrested Jose Lopez, 34, of Edinburg, TX, for petty larceny and recovered the stolen property. Lopez was processed at the police department and later released after posting a bond of $236 and was given a court date.

Oct. 12 - At 12:30 p.m. officers arrested Chester Grady Davis, 40, of Hayti on two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The first warrant was through Pemiscot county, for failure to appear on non-support and carried a cash only bond of $250 plus mileage. The second warrant was through Dunklin county, for probation violation on the original charge of forgery, with no bond. Davis was processed at the police department and incarcerated in the Justice Center to appear in court at a later date.

Oct. 12 - At 3:28 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no tags. As a result of the stop officers arrested Joevonte D. Bell of Hayti for driving while intoxicated. Bell was processed at the police department and later released after posting a bond of $336 and was given a court date.

Oct. 15 - At approximately 9:30 a.m. officers responded to Hay’s in reference to a male subject trying to pass off a bad check. Officers were able to place the male under custody for seven counts of forgery. The subject was processed at the police department and transported to the Justice Center. The subject is being held pending the filing of formal charges by the Prosecutor’s Office.

Oct. 16 - Formal charges were filed on Michael P. Beckman of Hayti, for passing a bad check (class E felony) with a cash only bond of $350.

Oct. 18 - Officers were contacted at the police department in reference to a domestic assault that had taken place on Grant Street. During the course of the investigation, officers arrested Auki Davis, 42, of Hayti for assault. Davis was released with a court summons. Officers also arrested Rachel Carter, 23, of Hayti for disobedience to police. Carter was processed and transported to the Justice Center in lieu of a $136 bond and given a court date.

Oct. 19 - At approximately 8:45 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 84 and North J. During the traffic stop officers arrested Keenon K. Norris, 25, of Hayti for an outstanding New Madrid county warrant. Norris was arrested and transported to the police department where he was processed on a failure to appear for driving while revoked/suspended driver’s license. Norris was transported to the Justice Center where he was held on a $250 cash bond.

Oct. 19 - At approximately 11:15 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Ricky J. Hooper, 40, of Hayti. Hooper was arrested on a Hayti city warrant for improper registration. During the traffic stop officers searched Hooper and found on his person marijuana and felony drug paraphernalia. Hooper was transported to the police department and processed on the warrant. He had a cash bond of $86. He was transported to the Justice Center where he is being held on a 24 hour hold, pending the filing of formal charges for possession of a controlled substance and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

Oct. 19 - At approximately 11:15 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. During the stop, officers identified Jennifer L. Levels, 36, of Caruthersville. Levels was arrested on an outstanding Pemiscot county probation warrant for absconding. She was taken to the police department where she is being held on the warrant with no bond.
