Wildcats, Chargers make All-Conference

The Cooter Wildcats (above) won another Tri-County Conference fall baseball championship this season, and 10 Wildcats were selected for All-Conference recognition, including Dawson Treat, who was named Tri-County Conference Player of the Year. Coach David Mathis was named Coach of the Year. Cooter baseball honorees are: (front, from left) Chris Crowder, Honorable Mention; Layton Robinson, Honorable Mention; Preston Hatch, Honorable Mention and Lane McLevain, Second Team All-Conference; (back, from left) Dawson Treat, Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference; Christian Gunnels, First Team All-Conference; Dalton Barron, Second Team All-Conference; Dylan Smelley, Second Team All-Conference and Jacob Watkins, First Team All-Conference. Also, pictured inset, is Zach Pendergrass, First Team All-Conference. Pictured below are the Delta C-7 All-Conference honorees. The 2017 high school fall baseball season is in the records books, and three Delta C-7 Chargers received All-Conference recognition. They are: (from left) Thomas Watson, sophomore shortstop, 2nd Team; Justis Taylor, junior center fielder, 2nd Team and Billy Jones, junior infielder, Honorable Mention.
