DOROTHY MAE GRANT

Dorothy Mae Grant, 51, of Steele passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo. She was born Sept. 29, 1965, in Hayti to the late John Albert and Clara Mae Thomas Grant. She was loved by many.

Ms. Grant leaves her loving husband, Freddie Lee Mayberry of Steele; daughters, Randu and Rochell Mayberry of Steele; sons Christopher Allan Grant and his wife, Adriana, and the late Freddie Dewayne Grant and Deangelo Mayberry; Robert Lee Grant and the late John Lee Grant and Richard Lee Grant; sisters, Flora G. Gaddy of Chicago, Ill., Virginia Brown and the late Bobby Brown of Chicago, Ill.; mother-in-law, Mary Gordon of Steele; two brothers-in-law, Charles Mayberry and Charlie Homesly, both of Madison, Wisc.; three sisters-in-law, Momary Homesly, Laura Mayberry and Dorothy Davis; a host of nieces and nephews that loved her unconditionally and nine grandchildren, Jayla R. Mayberry, Jadlen L. Mayberry, Travis D. Gooden Jr., Kristen L. Grant, Gabruella L. Grant, Latarion Grant, Devin Grant and Breanna Jackson.

Funeral services for Ms. Grant were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2 at Morning Star Baptist Church in Steele with Pastor James Hill officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.

John W. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
