Harvey Curtis “Curt” Sanders, Jr.

Harvey Curtis “Curt” Sanders, Jr. of Hayti was born on May 17, 1951, and passed away on June 6, 2017, at his home in Hayti, Missouri at the age of 66 years.

Curt was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was co-owner of Sanders Auto Sales and Flowers by Sanders. He was Assistant Chief of the Hayti Fire Department, where he was a fireman for 44 years. He was a charter member of the Pemiscot County Eagles and was an active community member. He enjoyed boating, traveling, sports, and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Ina Claire Sanders.

He leaves the following to cherish his memory, his wife, Kathy Sanders, his son, Curt Sanders, III, of Jonesboro, AR, his granddaughter Lauren Elizabeth Sanders of Jonesboro, AR, his sister and brother-in-law Jeri Claire and Tommy Crowder of Hayti, two sisters-in-law, Betty Morse of Winfield,IN, and Barbra and her husband Ken Felts of Viola,AR, cousins, John Sanders and Jay Sanders of Hayti, MO and Travis Sanders and his wife Jessica of Jonesboro, AR, close family friends, Julie Nichols and Mike Thomas of Hayti, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, with Brother Doug and Reverend Frank Husted officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti, MO. Members of the Hayti Fire Department served as pallbearers.
