DORIS FAY NORRID

Doris Fay Norrid, 88, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017, in Osceola, Ark. She was born June 10, 1928, in Memphis, Tenn. She was the third of five children born to the late James Alva Walker and Nettie May Warren Walker. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mrs. Norrid was preceded in death by her parents, James Alva Walker and Nettie May Warren Walker; two sisters, Pauline Britton and Lorine Adkins; two brothers, Warren D. Walker and James E. Walker; two husbands, Melvin E. Kifer and Jim Benton Norrid; one son, Clarence L. Kifer, and one grandson, Jeffrey Alan Kifer.

Survivors of Mrs. Norrid include six children, Alan W. Kifer of Abita Springs, La., Tommie Kifer (Brenda) of Monette, Ark., James Kifer (Rita) of Hartselle, Ala., Paul Norrid (Becky) of Franklin, Tenn., Joy Paulette Matheny (Glen) of Collierville, Tenn., and Glenda Williams of Kansas City, Kans.; 17 grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Norrid were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 18 at John W. German Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Tommy Kifer officiating. Interment followed at Mitchell #8 Cemetery in Cooter. Pallbearers were her grandsons.

John W. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
