JOHN HARVEY FIGGINS

John Harvey Figgins was born in Benton, MO on November 4, 1936.

He departed this life in Cookeville, TN on February 22, 2022 at the age of 85.

He was the son of the late Knox Figgins and Velma Robinson Figgins.

He attended the Caruthersville Schools, graduating in the High School Class of 1954.

John was a Veteran, having enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955. He received his Honorable Discharge in 1959.

On September 8, 1969 in Florence, AL he was united in marriage to Margaret Ann Alexander. She preceded him in death on September 29, 2015.

He was a partner in owning and operating Knox’s Drive Inn for over 35 years. He later opened The Barbecue Place in Braggadocio, MO in 1994 and ran it until his retirement in 2001.

John was a loving Father and Grandfather and very family oriented. He enjoyed reading, wood working, barbecuing, helping his wife with baking cakes and Cardinal Baseball.

He is survived by 3 sons, Daniel Paul Figgins of Wappapello, MO, John Lee Figgins of Smithville, TN and Bobby Alexander Figgins, also of Smithville. 2 grandchildren, Daniel Paul Figgins, Jr. of Paragould, AR, Erica Long of Cardwell, MO,

3 great grandchildren, Lathan Spears of Cardwell, MO, Daniel Parker Figgins of Paragould, AR and Hunter Knox Figgins of Paragould, AR, 1 brother, Chris Figgins of Augusta, GA, 1 sister, Debbie Mitchell of Dalton, GA and a number of other relatives and many friends.

He was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Robert Figgins, and 2 sisters, Hazel Manley and Helen Meek.

Funeral services held Feb. 26 with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
