J B Goforth of Caruthersville, MO was born September 28, 1944, to Jake “J.C” and Idell Goforth at Ripley, Tennessee. He passed away on May 2, 2022, at the Southgate living Center in Caruthersville, MO. He was 77 years, 7 months, and 4 days of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Jake and Idell (Modlin) Goforth, beloved wife: Lillian Pauline Goforth, 2 sons: Marvin Richard McCloud and Lillian Lorene Massengil, one grandson: T J McCloud, and one sister: Martha Norwood.

J B was once a member of the National Guard in Ripley, Tennessee. He was very hard working. He worked at the Ferryboat at Cottonwood Point, River Ready-mix in Caruthersville, and Baker Farms. He enjoyed playing card and Pac-Man. He loved spending time with his family and having family dinners.

He leaves the following behind to cherish his memory 7 Children: Chris (Nicole) Goforth of Caruthersville, MO., Billy (Joanna) Goforth of Caruthersville, MO., Jerry Goforth of Charleston, MO., Randy (Marilyn) McCloud of Hayti, MO., Emily (Mike) Parrott of Caruthersville, MO., Terry McCloud of Caruthersville, MO., and Bonnie Chilicutt of Caruthersville, MO. 7 Siblings: Margaret Bowels of Ripley, TN., Jake Goforth of Ripley, TN., Lavon Goforth of Ripley, Tn., Brenda Goforth of Ripley, Tn., Janette Booker of Ripley, TN., Kathy Benson of Halls, TN., and Jimmy Goforth of Ripley, TN. 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, and 8 great great great grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 6, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti, MO. with pastor Kenny Lee officiating. Burial was in Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville, MO. Pallbearers were Cody Lucy, Gary Deaton, Thomas Bates, Jr Adams, Sammy Dunkin, and Mike Shaw.
