On April 10, 2022 Steele Police investigated an alleged stabbing that reportedly took place at a residence on North Walnut Street, the victim had an apparent stab wound to his chest, and he was subsequently transported by ambulance. Police Chief Stanfield located and arrested 65 year old James Wilbourn of Steele in connection with the stabbing; Wilbourn was arrested on 1st degree assault and armed criminal action and transported to the Pemiscot County Jail. Chief Stanfield filed a report with the Pemiscot County Prosecuting Attorney and a warrant was subsequently issued on Wilbourn charging him with 1st degree assault and armed criminal action, with no bond.

On April 14, 2022 a 68 year old woman from Steele was charged with trespassing and stealing, she received a citation to appear in Steele Municipal Court. The 68 year old woman is accused of trespassing on her neighbor’s property on Bellevue Street and stealing his dog, the dog was returned to its owner without incident. Arresting Officer: Stanfield

On April 23, 2022 Steele Police arrested 34 year old Antony Jones of Steele on two Pemiscot County warrants charging him with non-support and possession of a controlled substance, total bond of $300.00 cash only. Arresting Officer(s): Welch and Mathenia
