Roberta Lewis of Hayti was born May 19, 1926 in Majette, FL.

She went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2018 in Caruthersville at the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 21 days.

Roberta was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Hayti and was an example to live by. Roberta loved to sew for her family. She became the head seamstress at a Jack Tar Hotel in Lansing, MI. She loved working in her yard, reading devotions, watching her bird feeders, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tobe Lewis, daughter, Linda Szutz, three sons, James, Terry, and Harold Lewis, granddaughter, Kimberly Long, and five siblings.

She leaves the following to cherish her memory, five children, Sarah Alexander and husband Herman of Greenville, AL, Toby Lewis of Hayti, Wilma Hamman and husband James of Mishawaka, IN, Tim Lewis and wife Debbie of South Bend, In, Ann Wilson and husband Steve of Lansing, MI, sister, Betty Smith of Benton Harbor, MI, 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti with Bro. Paul Quinn officiating. Burial was in the Dry Bayou Cemetery, north of Hayti. Pallbearers were Cody and Joshua Quinn, Bryan Cutler, Ryan Drumright, Hunter Owens, and Buddy Creasy.
