BARBARA JEAN CLAY

Barbara Jean Clay of Caruthersville was born May 31, 1948 in Henning, TN.

She died April 14, 2018 in Kennett, at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 13 days of age.

She married Bobby Joe Clay March in 1966 in Braggadocio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Levi and Nella Staggs Kelley, brothers, Mart Staggs, Sandy, Junior, Melvin, and Chester Kelly, sisters, Sue Austin, Margaret King, and Billy Jo Casteel, and great-grandson, Trey Allen Phelps.

She leaves the following to cherish her memory, son, Calvin Clay of Kennett, daughter, Lahoma Newsom of Caruthersville, grandchildren, Anthony Fruhling, Caitlin Mayberry, Jackie Sawyer, Amber Newsom, and Sarah Housman, great-grandchildren, Hunter, Braxton, Zoey, Melody, Chad, Evalynn, and Adlyn, brothers, Cotton, J.R. and Tommy Kelley, sisters, Patricia Wilcox and Mary Rodgers.

Funeral services were held April 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti with Mr. Steve Harris officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.

Pallbearers wer Wayne and Jerry Clay, Brad Mashburn, Joe Tilmon, Christopher Kelley, and Michael Bocardo.
