Mrs. Annie Mae Smith was born April 22, 1948 in Tutwiler, MS to the late James Baker and Viola Cockarell.

Annie Mae met and married the love of her life, Mr. Charles Smith in 1969 at Hayti.

Mrs. Smith loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, playing the lottery, fishing, and studying the bible with Jehovah Witnesses.

Annie Mae had a beautiful, uplifting spirit which made everyone she was around feel like they were friends whom she had known for years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Smith, Sr., a daughter, Debra Smith, her father, J. James Baker, her mothers, Viola (Baker) Cockarell and Mildred Baker, her mother-in-law Beatrice Smith, her father-in-law, Charles Smith, her brothers, Willie James Baker and Gregory Marshall, and her brothers-in-law, Bobby Thompson and Blair Smith.

Mrs. Smith leaves to cherish precious memories of her children, Charles (Latasha) Smith Jr. of Hayti, MO, Beverly (Jeff) Richmond of Poplar Bluff, MO, Perry (Nichole) Smith of Hayti, MO, and Angela (Sontino) Bashley of Lilbourn, MO, one special grandson, Deron Abbott of Kansas City, MO, four brothers, Robert (Anita) Baker of Saginaw, MI, John Henry (Pearlene) Young II of Webb, MS and Anthony (Shirley) Baker of Saginaw, MI, sisters, Martha Weatherspoon, Claudia Thompson, Judy Marshall, Phyllis Marshall of Saginaw, MI, Esther Baker Marilyn (Billie Ray) Hines of Kalamazoo, MI, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and six step-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Nadine Bond Baker of Saginaw, MI, a brother-in-law, Melvin Webb of Hot Springs, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 27, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Humnes officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Hayti. Pallbearers were Stacey Wright, George Thomas, Fred Hall, Jr., Evon Martin, Jeffery Richmond, and Santino Bashley.
