MARY EVELYN YOUNG

Wednesday, March 14, 2018

Mary Evelyn Young, 75, went to her heavenly home on Monday, March 5, 2018.

She was born in Caruthersville to Samuel Bennett Bynum and Eva Mae (Glass) Bynum on February 22, 1943. She spent most of her married life there. She loved her family, cooking, baking, and reading. She was the owner of Mary B’s Package Store for many years and after retirement, her and her husband, Jerry, moved to Olive Branch to be near their children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William Jerry Young of Olive Branch, two children, Randy Young of Byhalia, Sandy Young Howell and husband Ricky Howell of Nesbit, two grandchildren, Natale and Megan Howell, both of Nesbit, two brothers, Harold E. Bynum (Mary) of Hawthorne, FL and Glen A. Bynum of Plant City, FL, and a host of other family members. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan Edward Bynum, and Alvin Merle Bynum and sister, Wanda Sue Cowart.

She was a kind gentle soul, who would help any person, and her nurturing spirit will forever be engrained in the hearts of every person she’s ever met. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, she was loved beyond words and she will be missed beyond measure. Rest in eternal peace.

To respect Mary’s wishes, a private service will be held by her family. The family asks memorials to be made to Hope House in Memphis.
