VIRGINIA CLAIRE CAIN

Virginia Claire Cain was born in Ridgley, TN on December 3, 1913. She was the daughter of Willie Lee Cain and Cordie Hariston Woods Cain.

She departed this life at the Southgate Living Center in Caruthersville on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. She was 104 years old.

Virginia graduated from Caruthersville High School and then moved to Washington, D.C. where she went to work for the United States Department of Agriculture.

After her retirement, she returned to Caruthersville and enjoyed many years with her family and friends. In addition to enjoying her family, she also was known for sewing skills.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Charles, Edward, and Will Cain, and two sisters, Karneese and Grace.

She was survived by her sister, Rebecca Jane Cain of Caruthersville, a special friend, Pam Gardner of Caruthersville, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services were held on February 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. Interment in Maple Cemetery.
