Caruthersville Tigers honored

The 2017 district champions Caruthersville Tigers had a great football season, and numerous Tigers have been recognized for their efforts on the gridiron. Wide Receiver Bryce Strawn was named 2nd Team All-State, 1st Team All-Region, All-District and 1st Team All-Conference. Co-offensive MVP Charles Golliday was selected as 3rd Team All-State, 1st Team All-Region (offense) and 2nd Team All-Region (offense). Golliday also earned All-District, 1st Team All-Conference (quarterback) and 2nd Team All-Conference (punter).

Offensive lineman and linebacker Amaud Bates was selected as 1st Team All-Region on both sides of the ball (tackle, inside linebacker). Bates was also All-District, 1st Team All-Conference on both offense and defense and was chosen as conference Defensive Player of the year. Running back Nick Moore was named 1st Team All-Region, All-District and 1st Team All-Conference. Jacob Underwood, offensive lineman (center), made 2nd Team All-Region, All-District and 1st Team All-Conference. Offensive lineman (guard), Jermaine Hollywood, earned 1st Team All-Region recognition, as well as All-District and 2nd Team All-Conference.

Marquis Edwards, who played on the line of both sides of the line of scrimmage, was named 1st Team All-Region (defensive end) and 2nd Team All-Conference on both offense and defense. Defensive lineman Tyson Young made 1st Team All-Region and 2nd Team All-Conference. Tanner Cobb, outside linebacker, was chosen 1st Team All Region and 2nd Team All-Conference. Kicker and defensive back Terrius Rodgers earned 1st Team All-Region honors (defense), All-District and 1st Team All-Conference.

Adrian Rodgers was named 1st Team All-Conference (strong safety). The following Tigers were honored with 2nd Team All-Conference recognition: DeAndre Davis (running back), Chris Smith (wide receiver), Demarco Slaughter (wide receiver), Justice Burkhalter (defensive line) and Nick Davis (linebacker).
