MARGARET SUE MALIN

Margaret Sue Malin was born November 22, 1945 at Kennedy, Missouri (14 Bend). She was the daughter of Dorothy Mae Wagner.

She departed this life at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on December 26, 2017. She was 72 years old.

On April 17, 1976 in Steele, MO she was united in marriage to Carl “Sawdust” Malin.

Sue was a lady who loved her family especially her grandkids. She was known for baking sweets. She always made Mike a cheesecake for his birthday. In fact the recipe card is titled “Mike’s Cheesecake”. She also made lots of candy at Christmas. In addition to her own kids, she really took care of all of the kids on the block. She was often called the “Kool-aid mom”.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Wagner, and her husband, Sawdust Malin.

She is survived by four children, Michael Gene Russell of Steele, Donna Sue Russell of Steele, Juana Dayle Driskill of Pennelville, NY, Carla Ann Cecil and her husband, Brad of Hayti, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Caruthersville Wesleyan Church with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. Pallbearers were Dr. Shane Green, Dylan Howe, Ethan Green, Micheal Russell, Jr., Brad Cecil and Tevor Cooper.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the

services.
