South Pemiscot collects wins over Delta C-7, Cooter

The South Pemiscot Bulldogs were victorious in a pair of road games last week, the first against Delta C-7 Tuesday night, Dec. 4 and the second Thursday, Dec. 6 at Cooter. At Deering, the varsity Bulldogs defeated the Chargers 71-33.

Pacing South Pemiscot with 22 points was Kevin Burton. Terryon Johnson drilled 17, while Terrence Mullen knocked down eight. Lasilas Smith sank seven points, Chase Terry five, Antonio Fuller five, Khalal Rogers four and Darius Johnson three. As for the Chargers’ scoring, Billy Jones poured in 19 points and Bobby Stewart 13, while Blake Strange added two points for Delta C-7.

The junior varsity game saw the Bulldogs defeat the Chargers 74-49. Leading the way for South Pemiscot was DeCarlos Johnson with 26 points. Trent Johnson drained 10 points, as Noah Willingham and Cole McCormick knocked down eight points each. Tremaine Bivins and Terry Mullen scored five points apiece, while Ashton Thompson tossed in four points. Lavonta Wilbourn, J.T. Eddleman and Luke Southern added two points each for South Pemiscot.

In the Cooter games, South Pemiscot’s varsity team defeated the Wildcats 68-43. Kevin Burton and Darius Johnson poured in 16 points apiece, and Antonio Fuller drilled 13 points. Khalal Rogers poured in 10 points, while Terryon Johnson tossed in six points and Lasilas Smith five. Chase Terry added a bucket for the ‘Dogs.

The Wildcats were led Dylan Smelley with 18 points. Dalton Barron had nine points, Christian Gunnels eight and Dawson Treat seven. J.T. Stringfellow added a point for the ‘Cats.

The junior varsity Wildcats defeated South Pemiscot 57-47. Pacing Cooter with with 23 points was Luke Perkins, including four 3-pointers. Lane McLevain drilled 11 points, Gage Reece eight, Cade Carlock four and J.T. Stringfellow four. Jacob Watkins scored three points, Hays Austin two and John Lanier two.

According to the Cooter scorebook, Noah Willingham and Terry Mullen paced South Pemiscot with 13 points each. Darius Johnson pitched in seven points for the Bulldogs.
