Steele Police Report

Nov. 1 - Police received a report of two mailboxes being knocked down on Bates Street. It appeared the mailboxes were destroyed by a vehicle which left the roadway.

Nov. 2 - Hunter Garrett reported to police that someone had burglarized his hime. Stolen from his residence were three security cameras and a computer monitor. The investigation is continuing.

Nov. 2 - Police recovered a vehicle which had been reported stolen out of Clarkton, Mo. Clarkton Police were notified, and the vehicle was returned to the owner.

Nov. 3 - Steele Police and Pemiscot County Deputies arrested Jeremy Johnson, 29, on an active City of Steele warrant charging him with failure to appear on a domestic assault charge (bond $525). Johnson was processed and taken to the Pemiscot County Justice Center. Arresting officer: Sides

Nov. 3 - Officers responded to Dreamers Lounge in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a woman who stated she was assaulted by her husband. Police subsequently arrested a 55-year-old man from Caruthersville for the alleged assault. The suspect was processed and later released by summons to appear in Steele Municipal Court. Nov. 6 - Police responded to a home on Kelley Street in reference to a domestic assault. Upon arrival, officers met with a man who stated he was assaulted by his wife and two sons. The investigation is still ongoing.

Nov. 13 - Charles Mohr, 27, of Steele was arrested by Steele officers on an active warrant for his arrest through Dunklin County charging him with probation violation (no bond). Mohr also had an active warrant for his arrest out of Mississippi County, Ark., charging him with FTA on a possession of a controlled substance charge (bond $1,500). Mohr was taken to the Pemiscot County Justice Center. Arresting officer: Carter

Nov. 14 - Willie Townsend reported to police that someone had stolen his red Troy Built riding mower. The mower was stolen from 105 McCollum Street.

Nov. 14 - Police arrested Eddie Miller, 29, of Steele on an active Pemiscot County warrant charging him with burglary-first, stealing and controlled substance (bond $5,000). During the time of Miller’s arrest, he resisted arrest by attempting to flee from the police. An additional charge of resisting arrest was filed with the Pemiscot County prosecuting attorney. Nov. 15 - Police responded to the Sam Bradley home on Wright Street in reference to an attempted burglary. Upon arrival, officers met with Mr. Bradley who told the officers that when he woke up, he found a screen had been taken off his window and the glass window was broken. Police took a report of the incident, and it is being investigated.

Nov. 16 - Police arrested Debbie Brewer, 52, of Steele on an active City of Steele warrant charging her with failure to appear (bond $136) and an active Pemiscot County warrant charging her with unlawful use of a weapon (bond $3,500). Brewer was transported to the Pemiscot County Justice Center. Arresting officer: Sides

Nov. 18 - Officers arrested an 18-year-old man from Steele for breaking out windows to a home on North Walnut Street. The suspect was charged with property damage and then taken to the Pemiscot County Justice Center. Arresting officer(s): Carter and Sides
