The Middle School boys and girls basketball teams held a tripleheader against Northview (Newbern) Monday, Oct. 30. The 7th grade boys started off the evening, followed by the combined 7th and 8th grade girls and closed with the 8th grade boys. The games were all competitive but Caruthersville managed to make a clean sweep of the night winning all three games.

The 7th grade game saw both Caruthersville and Northview exchanging points back and forth. The Tigers kept a slight lead the entire game, but let the Choctaws get within a point on several occasions. The entire game, each team showed good defenses, passing and effective scoring. In the end, Caruthersville took the game 39-35.

The girls game saw the 7th and 8th grade teams combine for a strong Tiger dominance over the Lady Choctaw teams. Laticia Hamilton made several 3-point baskets which kept the Lady Tigers firmly in the lead through the first half of the game. As the second half opened, the Lady Choctaws made a good run of points gaining momentum and showing the Tigers they were not to be underestimated. The Lady Tigers maintained their edge and squeaked out a 46-43 win.

The final game of the evening was the 8th grade boys. Just as the Lady Tigers dominated the first half of their game, so did the 8th grade boys. The first half was dominated by a strong Tiger defenses and scoring. By the half, the Tigers had a considerable lead. The second half saw a renewed Choctaw team attempt to make a dent in the Tiger lead. They came out strong, but the Tigers came out stronger. The
