Oct. 20 - At approximately 11:45 a.m. officers received a call to The Store in reference to a past tense shoplifter. Upon arrival officers obtained a complaint against Henry l. Hamilton Sr., 64, of Hayti after he was allegedly seen on video shoplifting cigars on Monday, October 16. At approximately 1:15 p.m. officers were called back to The Store because Hamilton had come in and was observed by the staff. Henry was located walking down the street and arrested. He was then taken to the police department where he was processed and later taken to the Justice Center on a $236 bond.

Oct. 22 - At approximately 2:10 officers were dispatched to the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital ER in reference to an unruly patient who was cursing at the staff. Upon arrival officers arrested Coner M. Morgan, 26, of Caruthersville, for peace disturbance by profane language. Morgan was processed and transported to the Justice Center with a $136 bond.

Oct. 26 - At 5:00 p.m. officers investigated an incident at the 100 Block of East Broadway Street in reference to a person being bitten by a dog. As a result of the investigation a complaint was signed by the victim. Officers later made contact with the owner, Hazel L. Whitson, of Hayti and issued her a citation for dangerous or vicious dog. Whitson was given a court date.

Oct. 27 - At approximately 6:30 p.m. officers were called to The Store in reference to a disturbance. Officers later arrested Leonard Fowler, 62, for peace disturbance. Fowler was transported to the police department and then released on a summons to appear in municipal court.

Oct. 28 - At approximately 9:45 p.m. officers were called to Pilots in reference to a shoplifter still in the store. Officers arrested Juan Cortez, 46, of Mexico, for petty larceny. Items stolen were valued at $113.18. Cortez was transported to the police department where he was processed and released after posting a bond of $236. Cortez was given a court date.

Oct. 28 - At approximately 3:45 p.m. officers were called to The Store in reference to a shoplifter still in the store. Officers arrested Mark Tomei, 47, of Jonesboro for petty larceny. The items stolen were valued at $3.59. Tomei was processed at the police department. Tomei was then transported to the Justice Center where he is being held on a bond of $236. Tomei was given a court date.

Oct. 29 - Officers located and arrested Glen E. Morgan of Hayti on an active warrant through the city of Hayti for driving while suspended or revoked. Morgan was transported to the police department for processing and released. Morgan was given a court date.

Oct. 30 - At 7:21 a.m. officers were called to the 1500 of North Oates in reference to a disturbance at a residence. Upon arrival officers spoke to the victim and she stated that she had been assaulted by her husband and she signed a complaint. The suspect, Eddie G. McGruder, 67, of Kennett had left the area prior to officers arrival.

Oct. 31 - With the assistance of the Kennett Police Department, officers were able to make contact with McGruder by phone and he agreed to come in. Upon arrival at the police department he was processed and given a municipal court date.

Oct. 31 - At 7:30 p.m. officers were requested to located Cory Sullivan, 26, of Hayti to an incident that occurred in the city. Officers located Sullivan outside a local business at the 300 Block of East Highway 84. At Caruthersville’s request Sullivan was placed under arrest and transported to the Justice Center to be processed on the charges of peace disturbance, and property damage. During transport Sullivan attempted to dispose of a small amount of marijuana in the transporting officer’s patrol vehicle. Sullivan was charged with possession of marijuana, less than 10 grams, and issued a court summons to appear in Hayti municipal court.

Nov. 2 - Officers were called to the Hayti High School in reference to a student threatening another student. Upon arrival officers spoke with the High School Principal and then conducted an investigation.

Nov. 3 - Officers located the suspect (17) of Hayti, and conducted an interview with the suspect regarding the incident. The suspect was later released pending further investigation.

Nov. 3 - The Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued a warrant for David Eric Romhilt, 17, of Hayti, charging him with terroristic threatening-2nd degree, a class E felony. Officers later contacted Romhilt and he was brought into the police department where he turned himself in without incident. Romhilt was processed and transported to the Justice Center in lieu of a $75,000 cash or surety bond.
