JOE RICHARD DAVIS

Joe Richard Davis, 74, of Steele passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, in Kennett, Mo. He was born May 9, 1943, in Steele to the late Albert Davis and Blanche Arnold Davis. He graduated from South Pemiscot High School and worked for many years at the Steele Garment Factory. He loved mowing yards and worked for many years at the First Baptist Church in Steele.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Davis and Blanche Arnold Davis.

Survivors of Mr. Davis include one sister, Shirley Gaskins and her husband, Omer, of Kennett, Mo.; nieces, Becky Bruce and Terry of Kennett, Mo., Debbie Crafton and Frank of Kennett, Mo., and Sharon Sutherland and Rex of Kennett, Mo.; one nephew, Jeff Lack and Julie of Kennett, Mo., and several great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Davis were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13 at Powell Funeral Home in Steele with Rev. David Teem officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Pallbearers were David Jewell, Jon Binkard, Jake Crafton, Frank Crafton, Rex Sutherland and Terry Bruce.

Powell Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
