CARL DEAN BURCHARD

Wednesday, November 1, 2017

Carl Dean Burchard was born October 11, 1937 in Shook, Missouri. He was the son of Walter Burchard and Helen Morgan Burchard.

He departed this life in St. Louis, Missouri on October 25, 2017. He was 80 years old.

On March 10, 1961 he was united in marriage to Loretta Faye Thomas. She preceded him in death in 2007.

Carl was a man that loved life. He and his brothers picked cotton as kids. They wouldn’t quit picking until they had picked 600 pounds for the day. His neighbors loved reaping the rewards of tomatoes that Carl shared all summer. He loved hunting and fishing and this is a skill he shared not only with his own sons but many others also. Whatever they killed or caught, was then cooked and eaten.

Carl worked for Tipton Box Company for many, many years.

Anyone that has even driven past the river has seen Carl sitting there in his truck watching the river and also talking to everyone there.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen Burchard, his wife, Faye Burchard, three brothers, Glen, Jimmy, and baby, Roy Gene Burchard.

He is survived by two sons, Kevin Burchard and his wife, Sandra, Curtis Burchard and his wife, Cinzia, four sisters, Wanda Marler, Shirley Thomas, Linda Huddleston, and Sue Simon, one brother, Donald Burchard, five grandchildren, Casey Burchard, Christopher Burchard, Kayla Dormer, Garrett Burchard, Abby Burchard, two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Claire Dormer and Kylie Burchard, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 28, at 11:00 a.m. in the Caruthersville Wesleyan Church with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. Interment followed in Maple Cemetery.
