JH Chargers win two games at Risco

Coach Matt Ball and his Delta C-7 seventh and eighth graders boarded the bus and headed north to take on the Risco Tigers in a pair of junior high basketball games Thursday night, Oct. 19. The seventh graders easily got the victory, downing the Tigers 42-18. In the eighth grade game, the Chargers had to work a little harder, but came away with a solid 57-44 win.

In the eighth grade game, Maurion Hattiex drained 24 points to pace the Chargers, including three 3-pointers. Laker Sharp, Jacob Johson and Kyle Young sank eight points each, while Trenton Young buried seven points. Adding a 3-point shot for the Chargers was Bryce Manley, as Jimmy Burkeen tacked on a free throw Delta C-7.

Trenton Young led the way for the seventh grade with 13 points. Joe Morgan poured in seven points, and Jacob Miller drilled six points. Bryce Manley knocked down five points, while Jaden Ward, Garrett Lewis, George Dudley, Ryan Manley and Cody Miller all added two points each for the Chargers.
