ONIDA MAE MAXWELL

Onida Mae Maxwell, 90, of Yellow Springs passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Friends Care Community. She was born April 8, 1927 in Leachville, Arkansas to the late Bennie and Lorean (Ashbrand) Broughton. She married Willie “Bill” Maxwell on January 7, 1947 in Piggott, AR. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1995.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Floyd Broughton and one sister, Doris Drennen.

She is survived by son, Larry (Angela) Maxwell, daughter, Kristie (Bob) Pfeiffer, ten grandchildren,and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Onida was a member and faithful parishioner of the Enon Church of Christ for several years. She worked as a hairdresser for 30 years, having received her training in South Bend, IN, in 1967. She will be remembered for her kind spirit and the love she had for her family and friends. Onida was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Graveside services were held Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens south of Hayti with Bro. Doug Wahls officiating.

Pallbearers were family and friends.
