CARLES (GUINEA) EVANS

Carles (Guinea) Evans of Caruthersville was born September 17, 1929 in Hayti. He died October 7, 2017 at his home in Caruthersville at the age of 88 years and 20 days.

He loved to garden, putting in wells, visiting with friends, driving trucks and farming, and mostly loving his family.

He was united in marriage to Velma Barnes on June 19, 1998 in Caruthersville.

He attended the Kinfolks Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel Mae Evans, sisters, Flossie Connell, Virginia Ann Stevenson, Dorothy Kennedy, Colleen Beck, Pearl Evans, brother James Evans Jr. and son Ronnie Evans.

He leaves the following to cherish his memory, wife, Velma Little Evans of Caruthersville, two sons, Don Evans of Cadiz, KY, and Terry D. Evans of Caruthersville, daughters, Lynn Riney of Lexinton, TN and Gail Little of Huron, TN, 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, and host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held October 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Bro. Gary Mann officiating. Burial followed in the Caraway Cemetery near Lexington, TN with Military Honors. Pallbearers were Edward Williams, Eddie Lawler, Buddy Beechan, Roger Williams, Ray McCaig and Cody Burns.
