Steele Police Report

Oct. 4 - Officers responded to the Deerfield Travel Center in reference to property damage to one of the rooms. Police are currently seeking an individual for questioning in the incident.

Oct. 6 - Officers responded to the Family Dollar Store in reference to someone attacking a store employee. Upon arrival, officers met with the store clerk who told police that a woman was allegedly attempting to leave the store with merchandise that had not been paid for and allegedly assaulted the clerk by hitting her. The suspect was identified as Laci Lunsford, 28, of Steele. Chief Stanfield filed a report with the City of Steele prosecuting attorney, and a warrant was issued by Judge Stephan Keating charging Lunsford with assault and shoplifting. Lunsford was subsequently arrested and taken to the Pemiscot County Justice Center and incarcerated in lieu of a $1,024.50 bond. Arresting officer: Stanfield

Oct. 9 - Police responded to a home on Central Street in reference to a domestic assault. Upon arrival, officers met with a woman who told officers she had been assaulted by her 28-year-old boyfriend. Officers are currently seeking the man for questioning in this incident.

Oct. 11 - Officer arrested Crysta Marler, 36, of St. Genevieve, Mo., on an active probation violation absconder warrant (no bond). Marler was taken to the police department where she was processed and then transported to the Pemiscot County
