Bill Smith, 76, of Dawson Springs, Ky., passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2017. He was born June 24, 1941, in Steele to Floyd and Glenda Smith. He served in the Army. His occupations also included being a farmer and investment banker. He had a passion for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and Gospel music, but his greatest passion was making friends and always helping others in any way possible.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Smith; mother, Glenda Smith; first wife, Barbara Cable, and one brother, Howard Smith (Judy).

Survivors of Mr. Smith include his wife, Elaine Smith of Dawson Springs, Ky.; two sons, Mike Smith (Lacey) of Greenbrier, Ark., and Floyd Smith of Benton, Ark.; one sister, Betty Moss (Charles); two granddaughters, Briana Smith Kimball (Keith) and Lauren Smith; one grandson, Braden Smith; one great-granddaughter, Adeline Kimball; two great-grandsons, Alec and Maverick Kimball; one stepson, Wade Castleberry (Brandy); one stepdaughter, Darlene Castleberry Jackson (Dewayne), and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Mr. Smith were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21 at John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.

John W. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
