Walter Allen ‘June’ Teeter, 87, of Steele passed away Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, in Jonesboro, Ark. He was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Braggadocio to the late Walter O. and Julia Clayton Teeter. He was married to Alma E. Teeter for 67 years. He worked as a carpenter for 73 years and was an avid fisherman with his best fishing partners, grandson-in-law, Cory Gray, and brothers-in-law, John Spence and Gene Handley. A few more special people in his life were Nan Teeter - widow of Michael Teeter - Lynn Whitfield, Debbie Holt, Terri Bell, Kim McCormick, Randy Tucker - widower of Brenda Tucker - and Loeta and JW Carder. He was a friend to all and a great man that will truly be missed.

Mr. Teeter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter O. and Julia Clayton Teeter; one daughter, Brenda Teeter-Tucker; one son, Michael D. Teeter; one infant daughter; one brother, Howard Teeter, and three sisters, Blanche Handley, Doloriese Spence and Dorothy Mathenia.

Survivors of Mr. Teeter include his loving wife, Alma E. Teeter; one sister, Doris Wimberley; two sons, David Teeter and Kitty and Glen Teeter and Kay; 10 grandchildren, Ranese Freal, Brandy and Curt McDowell, Scott and Megan Teeter, Melissa and Cory Gray, Heather and Joey Green, Josh and Kiara Teeter, Dustin Teeter, Chasity Tate, Jennifer and Arturo Castellanos, Glen Allen Teeter and James Haynes; 23 great-grandchildren, Justin Woods, Jacob Dunigan, Bailey Dunigan, Kasie McDowell, Hannah McDowell, Clara Beth McDowell, Caden McDowell, Liz Gray, Abby Gray, Tyler Gray, Cameron Teeter, Tamarin Green, Taylor Potts, Nicholas Priddy, Christian Teeter, Noah Teeter, Eli Teeter, Madiline Payne, Isabella Teeter, Halle Womble, Grant Simpson, Kobe Simpson and Sawyer Castellanos, and two great-great-grandchildren, Amaya Jones and Raelynn Jones.

Funeral services for Mr. Teeter were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 at Powell Funeral Home with Mr. Ron Robinson and Mr. Bruce Robinson officiating. Interment followed at Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation was held from 12 noon until the time of the service. Pallbearers were Dustin Teeter, Glen Allen Teeter, Cory Gray, Justin Woods, Scott Teeter and Curt McDowell. Honorary pallbearers were John Spence and Gene Handley.

Powell Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
