Home going services for Roy Williams were held September 18, 2017 at 1:00 in the H.S. Smith Funeral Chapel with Rev. Barbara Rodgers officiating. Interment followed in Morgan Ridge Cemetery.

Roy was born August 29, 1946 in Caruthersville. He was the son of Frank Williams and Elzie Hall.

Roy graduated from Washington High School. He then enlisted and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

On December 28, 1967 in Alton, Illinois, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Pearl Scott/Cartwright. They celebrated 49 years of marriage.

He received the Lord at the New Jerusalem Church under Pastor Rodgers in St. Louis.

Roy worked for the R.C. Beverage Company for many years in St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Williams and Elzie Hall, and two brothers, Lester and James Williams.

He is survived by Pearl Williams, one daughter, Denise Williams, one son, Van Williams, a sister, Lula Williams, a brother, Ray Williams, and a half-brother, Robert Lee Hunt, six grandchildren, Zavionnna Watt, LaDashia, Aquarion, Jayuan, Tina, and Tyra Williams, many other relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers were Ray Williams, Anthony Cagle, Terrance Rodgers, Cartrell Brown, Otis C. Yancy, Robert Hunter, and Nick Cagle.
