Hit and run ends in arrest

Thurman Williams

Thurman Williams, 49, of Hayti, was arrested following an accident Sunday, August 20,  just after 9:00 p.m., in Hayti when he pulled into the path of a car driven by an 18-year-old Bono, Ar., woman identified as Whitley Cox.

The accident occurred on Highway 412 at Mallory Street in Hayti.

Thurman was taken by ambulance to Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti

Cox was taken by ambulance to Twin Rivers Regional Medical in Kennett.

Williams was arrested for driving while intoxicated a felony, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident and for not wearing his seatbelt.
