KERRIE ANNE THOMPSON

Karrie Anne Thompson was born February 29, 1940 at Cottonwood Point, Missouri. She was the daughter of Mr. Otto Going and Hettie Williams Going.

He departed this life in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on July 23, 2017. She was 77 years old.

Anne attended the Caruthersville School system, graduating with the class of 1958. She was the Homecoming Queen in 1957.

Anne worked as a secretary at Brown Shoe for many years. In addition to working, she had many hobbies and most of them centered on her family. She loved to sew and made all of the kids Halloween costumes. She also made the girls dresses for dances when they were in high school. After focusing on her kids, she shifted her attention to her 6 grandchildren. She loved sports and never missed games that her kids were playing in. She also enjoyed Sunday afternoon football on television.

She was a member of the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Hettie Going, her husband, Delbert Thompson, two brothers, Perry Going and Otto Going, Jr., and one sister, Peggy Landers.

She is survived by four children, Russanna Keen (Robert) of Hayti, MO, David Thompson (Mary) of Kansas City, MO, Tracy Darnell (Tim Gordon) of Caruthersville, MO, Logan Thompson (Kellie) of St. Peters, MO, three sisters, Betty Teeter, Linda Taylor, and Cathy Kellett, six grandchildren, Sarah Robinson of Caruthersville, Trevor Thomas of Colorado Springs, CO, Marty Metzger of Natchez, MS, Logan Darnell of Starkville, MS, Lauren Thompson of Kansas City, MO, and Jake Thompson of Kansas City, MO, many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ricky Lyle officiating. Interment was in Little Prairie Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Marty Metzger, Sr., Marty Metzger, Jr., Jake Thompson, Trevor Thompson, and Michael Robinson.
