Steele Police Report

Aug. 15 - Chief of Police Billy Joe Stanfield reports that during the early morning hours of August 15, his officers were dispatched to Greene Pharmacy in reference to a burglar alarm being activated. Officers quickly arrived on scene and found the front door had been forced open. Steele Police and Pemiscot County Deputies entered and secured the pharmacy. The suspect and left prior to the officers arriving. Taken during the burglary was pharmaceutical drugs and several hundred dollars worth of change. The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Department is assisting Steele Police Department with this investigation. Aug. 16 - Susie Hitchcock, 53, was arrested on an active City of Kennett warrant charging her with failure to appear. Hitchcock was taken to the Justice Center with a bond of $350.

Aug. 17 - Officers responded to Nobel Estates in reference to someone trespassing on the property. Officers arrested a 49 year old woman from Steele on charges of trespassing. She was taken to the police department where she was processed and released by summons to appear in municipal court.

Aug. 17 - Officers responded to Pecan Acres and were met by a woman whom stated a woman had been to her home and stole some jewelry. The suspect had also allegedly made threats while holding a knife. Steele police are currently seeking an individual for questioning in the incident.

Aug. 19 - Dustin Glenn, 31, of Steele, was arrested by police on an active Dunklin county warrant charging him with probation violation (no bond). Glenn was taken to the Justice Center.

Aug. 21 - At approximately 1:00 a.m. officers responded to West Main Street in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival to the residence officers were told that two males had broken into a vehicle and ran from the area. Officer Reno began walking the area and came across two males both wearing dark colored clothing. One of the subjects appeared to be holding a handgun. Officer Reno chased the two suspects and county deputies arrived to assist. Officers continued searching but did not find the two suspects. The incident is being investigated by police.
