Pemiscot Redbirds end season in Cape Girardeau
The Pemiscot Redbirds 18 and under team played the last games of their season July 13-16. The team player well in the tournament, but came up short against some tough teams in the district tournament at Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau. Coach Jeremy Harmond said the team is young and strong and will continue to do good thing as they mature. Even with the tough schedule the Redbird team showed some good ball handling skills, base stealing, effective batting. and good pitching skills. The game Friday night against Cape Post 63 was typical of the tournament efforts of the Redbird team; hitting well early and holding the opposition to only a few runs before the finally giving in to the opposition. Christian Gunnels was the starting pitcher for the Redbirds against Cape Post 63.
