Steele Police Report

July 4 - Officers responded to the Deerfield Inn in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, officers met with a woman who stated she had been assaulted by Johnny Phillips, 38, of Steele. Officers subsequently made contact with Phillips and arrested him on the alleged assault. It was discovered he had two active Pemiscot County warrants both charging him with failure to appear (cash only bond $527.30). Phillips was taken to the Pemiscot County Justice Center and incarcerated. Arresting officer: Sides

July 8 - Rhonda Galbraith reported to police that someone had stolen a red Schwinn Bicycle with a chrome fender off her porch at Elm Court.

July 9 - Police and firefighters were dispatched to Gibson Street in reference to a shed being on fire. A 40-year-old man from Steele was subsequently charged with reckless burning and received a summons to appear in Steele Municipal Court. Arresting officer: Sides

July 12 - Paula Gibson of Pecan Acres reported to police that someone had stolen money from inside her purse. Police are currently seeking an individual for questioning in this incident.

July 13 - Police arrested Tommy Gribble, 37, of Kennett on an active Dunklin County warrant charging him with failure to appear (bond $500 cash only). Gribble was transported to the Pemiscot County Justice Center. Arresting officer(s): Stanfield and Trimm
