Jerry Mack Isbell, Sr.

Jerry Mack Isbell, Sr. was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on October 8, 1940. He was the son of the late Albert Isbell and Opal Green Fuhrman.

He departed this life in Hayti, Missouri on June 6, 2017. He was 76 years old.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Marines.

On December 7, 1959 he was united to Betty Sue Gunter. She preceded him in death.

Jerry was employed at Trinity for many years as a welder.

Jerry enjoyed watching old John Wayne westerns on television and also war movies. He also very much enjoyed reading suspense novels with Stephen King being one of his favorite authors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Isbell and Opal Fuhrman, his brothers Albert Holt, Isbell, II and a daughter, Olivia Hunt.

He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Moore of Caruthersville, MO, two sons, Jerry Jr. of Lenox, TN, and Robert Isbell of Caruthersville, MO, one brother, Malcolm Isbell of Caruthersville, MO, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, many other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on June 9 with Rev. Troy Alley officiating in the H.S. Smith Chapel. H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
