Jane Bryant Winstead, one of the event’s organizers, said, “The Bootheel Riverfest pledges all proceeds to benefit the Oak View Learning Center Integration Program. Oak View Learning Center provides services for students ages 5-21. The focus of the school is to make the students as independent as possible. The goal of the Integration Program is for children with profound/severe disabilities to visit businesses to learn everyday skills, such as following simple shopping lists, how to exchange money and how to order from a menu. This program also brings awareness to the community of the needs of people with disabilities and provides a means for the community to help them overcome their challenges. The Oak View Learning Center is extremely grateful for the support from Bootheel Riverfest!”
