Hayti senior Kedron Rollings will take his basketball game to the next level after graduation later this month. The five-foot-eight guard signed to play basketball at Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Mo., Thursday.

“Their recruited me heavily,” Rollings said. “Their coach came in and told me he wanted me, which really sparked my interest.”

Hayti first-year boys basketball coach Aaron Bidewell said playing time was among the factors that led to his standout point guard’s decision to play for the Central Christian College of the Bible Saints.

“He was recruited by three or four schools,” Bidewell said. “The one thing about CCCB is they really made it known he will have a chance to be one of their guys. Sometimes you go to college and you are No. 12 or 13 on the roster, but they made it known from the get-go he will have a chance to compete for a starting spot on Day 1. That really attracted him because he’s a competitor and wants to play. He’s going to do what a coach asks him to do but he really wants to play. He’s going to come in and compete on Day 1. The sky is the limit for him because if he puts on a little weight in the weight room he’s got a chance to excel at the collegiate level.”

Rollings was an all-conference and all-district player on a 2016-17 Hayti squad that went 18-12 and won its district tournament.
